The monthly business meeting of the Board of Directors of the Ken-Caryl Art Guild was held on November 10, 2016 at Rox Bar & Grill, 12684 W Indore Pl, Littleton CO.

 

Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 6:07 pm.

 

Approval of Minutes

October minutes were approved online.

 

Financial Report

Treasurer Susan Hilberg

Bank balance: $1827.09 as of November 10, 2016

No reservation has been made yet for the December Holiday party.

Entry fees for the Rox show were collected from C. Schmac and B. Cagianese.

Chelli reported that the Rox show hanging was successful and Cindy reported that she repaired the walls one week following the installation. Cindy would also like to thank everyone for their help and participation.

First sale reported at the Rox show for Chelli Schmac.

Art Appreciation (Dir Steve Begej)

Members who have had work accepted in shows have been sent as email announcements; also, invite and congratulations to Pres Steve on the installation of his bronze eagle sculpture in Community Park

Chelli reported that she has been unable to gain access as Admin to post on FB and is working to resolve the issue.

 

Public Relations (Office open)

Dir of PR person is responsible for submitting KCAG news and/or announcements to Life at Ken-Caryl newspaper and announcement of meetings to the Columbine Courier. When news is not available, photographs with caption may be submitted. (Not required for every month.)

 

Publications

Dir of Programs, Ronnie Seagren will be submitting an article on Chaz Kemp in advance of his program Jan 12.

Michele Sires-DeLorean will be submitting an article on Pres Steve McCall as 'Member in the Spotlight.'

No report/Judy is awaiting graphics re: announcements to upload.

Other Communications/Discussions

 

Location of Holiday party was discussed. Bruce will investigate Meadows Restaurant and the Board will convene online to decide.

 

Congratulations to our KCAG president Steve McCall for completion and installation of his full-sized bronze sculpture of an eagle titled "Guardian of Freedom". The eagle will be unveiled and dedicated at a celebration of Veterans Day at the Ken Caryl Veterans Memorial on Saturday, November 12, at 11 am.

 

Pres Steve suggested that we investigate new/addl exhibit venues for 2017.

 

MSD again reported that Katy Campbell of the Roxborough Arts Council suggested that the Guild participate in a show in 2017 with Rox- Arts in their new gallery location at 8357 N Rampart Range Rd #208b, Littleton.

 

There being no further items for discussion, the meeting was adjourned at 6:57 p.m.
