The regular business meeting of the Board of Directors of the Ken-Caryl Art Guild was held on May 08, 2014 at the Rox Bar & Grill, 12684 West Indore Place, Littleton CO.



Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 6:13 pm.

Approval of Minutes

No business was conducted in April 2014 due to the reception at the LAC gallery.



Treasurer Susan Hilberg reported a balance of  $3,209.64. Authorization was given to deliver to Rox the already issued check for $125 on acct for our reserved meeting space, with hopes that Pres Steve could negotiate a more lucrative deal.

Committee Reports




No new members accounted for.




In Ronnie Seagren's absence, Michele Sires-DeLorean presented the final details for the Fielder event. Discussion ensued re: provision of water for the main table. Michele Sires-DeLorean updated the Board on marketing activities done to promote our Salon Night with John Fielder on Wednesday, May 14, 2014. The Board authorized payment of $50 to Steve McCall for his setup and monitoring of the sound system for the evening.




Reporting for Barbara Williams and on the suggestion of Program Dir Ronnie Seagren, Michele Sires-DeLorean reported the allowance for program presenters to exhibit with the Guild upon invitation, as part of their honorary annual membership. The Board suggested that next year the exhibit changeouts at Rox be extended by one month (every four months) to allow members more time to prepare work.


Public Relations


Gail Firmin will be resigning her post as Dir of Public Relations. Call for nominations will be made next month. Michele Sires-DeLorean will send members the Event Reminder to post on social media.




Judy Ahlborn requested members to send photos to update Flash slideshow.


Art Appreciation

Bruce Nall sent out Call for Art submission for the Redhanded show see http://www.sharongatrellmeriash.com/call-for-entries for details. Guild member Steve Bergej has been accepted to the Cherry Creek Arts Festival (booth 237) and the Loveland sculpture show in August. Members will be invited to support Steve at both events.

Communication/Discussion Items


Jeffco Foundation Art Award letter of appreciation was read by Pres Steve McCall.


Board recommended revisiting the issue of meeting space for 2014-2015 at the July board meeting.


KCAG will contribute to the KCR-100 year celebration at the Manor House on August 9, 2014 and will be represented with a table display at the event. Bruce Nall will take the lead for that initative.


Action Items


Steve McCall will purchase several cases of water for the Fielder Event.


Michele Sires-DeLorean will send officers the timetable provided by John Fielder.
