HELD June 12, 2014


The regular business meeting of the Board of Directors of the Ken-Caryl Art Guild was held on June 12, 2014 at the Rox Bar & Grill, 12684 West Indore Place, Littleton CO.



Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 6:07 pm.

Approval of Minutes

May 2014 minutes were approved and updated to the website.



Treasurer Susan Hilberg reported a balance of  $3,209.01 as of end of May.

July 9, 2014, 5 pm at the Manor House


Committee Reports




Dues notices for 2014-2015 were emailed first week of June. Seven renewals were received this evening: Bruce Nall, Michele Sires-DeLorean, Carol Grape, Barbara Williams, Stefan & Cathy Begej, Kelli Jimerson, Judy Ahlborn. Dues reminder notices will be sent at the end of the month.




Ronnie Seagren reported that Michael Schussler, chalk on canvas artist will present in September; Mary Morrison, mixed media artist will be presenting in October. November is still open at this time. Ronnie suggested a "primitive art" program via the Colorado Archeological Society that seemed well received. Another suggestion was a program re: the jurying of work for exhibition.




Reporting for Barbara Williams: the date for "In the Park" exhibit is now July 29 with a December breakdown, to be announced.


Public Relations


Position of Dir of PR will be open as of July 1st. To make it easier for all officers to contribute to public relations communications, Michele Sires-DeLorean provided the Board with a workflow for Programs, Exhibits, Special Events, etc. A news article highlighting Member Steve Begej in the Spotlight was submitted to Life at Ken-Caryl for the July 2 publication.




Judy Ahlborn had nothing to report.


Art Appreciation

Bruce Nall sent out Call for Art submission for All Colorado Show at the Curtis Arts & Humanities Center, now with entry deadline shifted to September 8, 2014.

Communication/Discussion Items


Board discussed incentives for officers serving several years on the Board; issue will be discussed further at the July 9th meeting.


KCAG will contribute to the KCR-100 year celebration at the Manor House on August 9, 2014 and will be represented with a table display at the event. Bruce Nall will receive artwork and small easels for that purpose.


Action Items


Michele Sires-DeLorean will send Susan Hilberg and Bruce Nall past correspondence from Rose Lewis, committee chairperson for KCR-Historical Society.


Board will finalize decision re: meeting room reservation space at Rox for the 2014-2015 year.
