- Steve McCall
brought up the issue of sparse member attendance at the monthly KCAG
presentations. Some suggestions
during discussion included:
Presenter Program? Not desirable,
as the programs are one of the few current opportunities for KCAG members
to get together as a group in the absence of exhibit events. (What to tell presenters regarding
expected audience size?
"Variable, and unknown in advance", as the turnout could
be as small as just the board or up to a few dozen members.)
Have special events
like a field trip, e.g., visit Reed Photo, etc.
Get some KCAG exhibits
restarted and running on a continuous basis, as this seemed to something
members want and will participate in.
Potential candidates include the Ken Caryl
Community Center, the Rox building (it is
rumored a restaurant has purchased the building), Black Arts wine
establishment. (Past meetings have also discussed the possibility of
renting gallery venue space for a KCAG show.)
for Art Submission Listing
refreshments and appetizers available, as that seemed to be a popular
amenity available at the Rox. A potluck format was suggested,
including alcoholic beverages (it was thought that such drinks would be
permitted at the Ranch House meeting room, but confirmation is needed).
notifications through Facebook, Call
Announcement emails, and KCAG website postings
notifications of meetings via direct email to the membership
- Creation of a
stylish information poster or card for each presenter (similar to what
Michelle did) sent out with meeting notifications, and also published on
FB, Call Announcements, and possibly the website.
- Have more
"Show and Tell" events where members bring examples of their
work or marketing efforts for sharing, comments, and suggestions.
of local and regional art calls are being sent out to KCAG members by
Steve Begej approximately every two weeks.
- To increase
exposure of member news such as shows and sales, Steve will forward
notifications of such events and associated artwork images immediately to
Chelli for publication on Facebook.
- A section will
be added titled "KCAG Presentations" to help publicize these
events, including a listing of past presentations.
- A PDF copy of
the Call Announcements will be made available so a link to it could appear

artwork exhibits (similar arrangement to ROX)

re-establish contact with Ken Caryl Community
Center manager or decision maker, and continue moving forward on getting
