ARROW “Five Years Out” Art Challenge being hosted by the Cherry Creek Arts Festival
Ken Caryl resident Stefan Begej was one of seven artists chosen to create an artwork in response to the Arrow Electronics Art Challenge hosted by the Cherry Creek Arts Festival (CCAF). The theme of the Challenge was "Five Years Out", and sought to give artists a chance to express what the future in art and technology might look like through innovative artworks. Stefan's entry was titled "Innovation Engine", and is a large 6'x7' mixed media wall sculpture which seeks to present the evolution of innovation in a visually dramatic and compelling manner, convey the sense that the number of inventions today vastly exceeds that of the past, and that the rate of innovation is exponentially accelerating. "Innovation Engine" is part of Stefan's Fragmentation Series of artworks, in which "flash sculptures" are used to capture and freeze dramatic or explosive events in a three dimensional format.
